Grand Valley State women's soccer faces Roosevelt away before hosting Davenport

The Grand Valley State women's soccer team, ranked No. 17, is set to play two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games this weekend. The Lakers will travel to face Roosevelt in their final road game of the regular season on Friday, November 1, at 1:00 PM. They will then host Davenport on Sunday, November 3, also at 1:00 PM.

GVSU currently holds a record of 10-1-3 overall and 7-1-2 in the GLIAC. This season, they have outscored opponents 23-5. Last weekend, the Lakers secured a 2-0 victory against Ferris State with Taylor Reid scoring the game-winning goal and freshman Kendall Aikens netting her first collegiate goal.

Emma Chudik leads GVSU in scoring with four goals and two assists totaling ten points. Ryann Fetty has also accumulated ten points from three goals and four assists. Taylor Reid has contributed five assists and one goal for seven points. Goalkeeper Cailynn Junk has achieved four consecutive shutouts and boasts an overall record of 8-1-3 with thirty saves.

Roosevelt comes into the weekend with a record of 0-10-4 overall and 0-9-2 in the GLIAC. Earlier this season, GVSU defeated Roosevelt 2-0 at home. Recently, Roosevelt suffered losses against Northern Michigan (3-0) and Michigan Tech (2-0).

Davenport holds a record of 6-3-6 overall and 4-2-5 in the GLIAC. In their previous encounter this season, Davenport edged out GVSU with a narrow 1-0 win at home. The Panthers are coming off two scoreless draws against Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State.

Haley Diekevers leads Davenport with five goals and two assists for twelve points this season, including four game-winning goals from forty-six shots taken. Taylor Meadows has scored three goals while Gabby Scholten leads the team with four assists. Goalkeeper Elizabeth Wolter has started all fifteen games this season, achieving eight clean sheets alongside fifty-four saves.
