Grand Valley State University's sophomore quarterback, Vinnie Meschi, has been recognized as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the GLIAC office following Meschi's impressive performance in his first career start.

Meschi completed 8 out of 14 passes, amassing 200 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 16 yards during the Lakers' victory over Wayne State, with a final score of 55-28. Notably, Meschi only played in the first half, leading GVSU to a commanding 37-0 lead. His efforts resulted in an average of 25 yards per completion, with all eight completions resulting in first downs.

The touchdown passes included a notable 76-yard connection with Kyle Nott and a three-yard pass to Harrison Unger. These achievements marked career highs for Meschi.

Currently ranked #4, Grand Valley State holds an 8-1 overall record and is set to face Michigan Tech in their next game. The matchup is scheduled for week 10 at Kearly Field with kickoff at noon.
