After a week-long break, the Lakers are set to compete against Oakland University in a head-to-head meet on Saturday, November 9th. The event will take place at the Oakland Aquatic Center, beginning at 1 p.m.

The men's swim and dive team from GVSU has started their season strong with a 4-1 record. They recently secured victories over Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley during a tri-meet two weeks ago. Last season, they faced Oakland University early on and won with a score of 157-142.

Similarly, the women's swim and dive team has improved their record to 4-1-0 following wins against Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley. Last year, they defeated the Golden Grizzlies with a score of 163-137.

Coach Boyce commented on the upcoming meet: "Taking off a week of competition, we were able to get some good practice in and get some good technique in as well. We are making some adjustments on starts and turns but overall training is hard. We should see a good test this weekend against the rising champs of Division I, Oakland University. We beat them last year, both mens and womens. So very excited to see what this weekend holds. Ready for some good competition, good racing, and good diving!"

Currently, there is no live stream available for the event. Updates can be followed on Instagram @gvsuswimdive or Twitter @gvsuswim.
