Grand Valley State University's wrestling team participated in the Michigan State Open held in East Lansing. This tournament was an individual open, meaning no team scores were recorded.

The event featured multiple teams from both Division I and Division II. Among the standout performers was Carter Blough, who competed in the 285-pound weight class. Blough secured a third-place finish after receiving a bye to start his day. He won his first match with an 8-2 decision victory and continued his strong performance by winning by fall. Despite a challenging loss in the semifinals, he succeeded in every match within the consolation bracket to earn third place overall.

Other Grand Valley State wrestlers who took part included Logan Klinge (133), Gustavo DeLima (141), Elijah Kidder (149), Nathan Mansor (165), Miles Curtis (174), and Brayden Mirjavadi (184).

The Lakers are scheduled to travel next to Findlay, Ohio, where they will compete in the Findlay Open starting at 9:00 a.m.
