The NCAA Division II football committee has released its second regional ranking for 2024, with Grand Valley State University (GVSU) maintaining its position as the number two team in Super Region 3. The rankings include ten programs, and the top seven will be selected for the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs on Sunday, November 17.
Ferris State University, a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), holds the first position with a record of 9-1. GVSU follows closely with a similar record of 9-1. Pittsburg State is ranked third with a record of 7-2, while Central Oklahoma stands fourth at 8-1. Ouachita Baptist is fifth at 9-1, defending National Champion Harding is sixth also at 9-1, and Indianapolis takes the seventh spot with a record of 9-1. Fort Hays State is eighth at 7-3, Central Missouri ninth at 7-3, and Saginaw Valley State rounds out the list in tenth place at 7-3.
Grand Valley State is set to play its regular season finale against Roosevelt on Saturday, November 16, with kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m. ET. The Lakers recently achieved a decisive victory over Michigan Tech, shutting them out with a score of 20-0 and holding their opponents to just 100 yards of total offense on 44 plays.
