Grand Valley State University's men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. The event will be held on Saturday, November 23, at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, California. The California College Athletic Association and the Visit Sacramento Sports Commission are hosting the championships.

The men's race is scheduled for 10 a.m. PST and will cover a distance of 10 kilometers. The women's race will follow at 11:15 a.m. PST over a six-kilometer course.

Both teams have been ranked among the top three nationally by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association ahead of this competition. The women's team holds the No. 2 spot, while the men have moved up two positions to No. 3 since preseason rankings.

Grand Valley's teams enter the championships after successful seasons marked by titles at both the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and NCAA DII Midwest Region Championships.

The men's team achieved a perfect score of 15 points at GLIAC, taking all top five spots and securing ten out of fifteen leading positions overall. Meanwhile, the women earned 23 points with strong performances that placed six runners in the top ten.

In regional competition, Grand Valley secured its consecutive titles—22nd for men and 23rd for women—with notable performances from Caleb Futter and Koby Fraaza finishing second and third respectively for a total score of 40 points on their side; junior Lauren Kiley led her squad to victory with an individual championship title contributing towards their low score tallying just twenty points overall across categories contested there too!
