Grand Valley State hosts Hillsdale in nonconference basketball matchup

The Grand Valley State men's basketball team is set to host Hillsdale for a nonconference game on Wednesday afternoon. The match will take place at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena with tipoff scheduled for 3:00 PM.

The Lakers are returning from two road victories last week, having defeated Lewis with a score of 85-76 and Malone 81-78. This has improved their season record to 3-1. Hillsdale enters this matchup with a strong start to their season, holding a record of 5-1 after winning their first five games by double digits before experiencing a loss against Winona State. The Chargers average 84 points per game while shooting at a rate of 50% from the field and maintaining a three-point percentage of nearly 38.5%. They have consistently outrebounded opponents by an average margin of approximately ten rebounds per game.

Senior Charles Woodhams stands out as Hillsdale's leading scorer, averaging fourteen points on fifty percent shooting accuracy both from within and beyond the arc.
