The Grand Valley State men's basketball team faced a narrow defeat against Hillsdale on Wednesday afternoon at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The final score was 67-63, resulting in the Lakers' record falling to 3-2 for the season, while Hillsdale improved to 6-1.

In terms of shooting performance, GVSU managed a 39% success rate from the field and 29% from beyond the arc. In contrast, Hillsdale shot 41% from the field and achieved a 35% three-point shooting percentage. Despite the loss, GVSU outperformed Hillsdale in rebounding, securing a total of 45 rebounds compared to Hillsdale's 31. This included an impressive haul of 14 offensive rebounds by GVSU against seven by their opponents.

Jalen Charity emerged as a key player for GVSU, tying his career high with 15 points on efficient 7-11 shooting. He also contributed four rebounds and one block. Ethan Alderink added to the team's efforts with 13 points on 4-7 shooting and four rebounds. Trevon Gunter scored eight points, including two successful three-pointers. William Dunn led in rebounding for GVSU with eight boards and also made two three-pointers.

Looking ahead, GVSU is set to play again on Saturday evening when they host Aquinas at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The game is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM and will be available for live streaming on FloSports and radio broadcast on Thunder Country 107.3.
