The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) men's basketball team achieved a decisive victory over Aquinas with a score of 96-52 on Saturday evening. This win improves the Lakers' record to 4-2 for the season.

GVSU showcased strong shooting, hitting 54% from the field and 48% from three-point range. The team also dominated in rebounds, securing 47 compared to Aquinas' 31, including 17 offensive rebounds. Additionally, GVSU recorded a season-high of 23 assists while committing only nine turnovers.

William Dunn was the leading scorer for GVSU, matching his career high with 23 points. He made nine out of fifteen shots from the floor and four out of eight from beyond the arc. Jalen Charity contributed with 12 points and nine rebounds, shooting efficiently at four-for-five from the field and two-for-three from three-point range. Mason Docks added another 12 points along with a game-high nine assists, making five out of eight field goals including two triples. Kaden Brown chipped in with ten points and three rebounds.

Shamus Thompson achieved a personal best by grabbing eleven rebounds, seven of which were offensive, alongside blocking three shots and scoring five points. Cam Regnerus also set a career high with seven points and ten rebounds.

The Lakers established an early lead with an 18-2 run within the first five minutes of the opening half, leading to a commanding halftime score of 46-27. A key moment included Mason Docks hitting a three-pointer followed by a layup from Cam Regnerus to push their advantage into double digits shortly before halftime. William Dunn closed the half by sinking a corner three-pointer just before the buzzer.

In the second half, GVSU continued their momentum with a significant 20-6 run that expanded their lead to 64-32 following another successful three-pointer by Dunn. The team's lead grew further when Docks executed a steal followed by a fastbreak layup, eventually stretching their advantage to forty points.

As November concludes, GVSU stands at four wins and two losses. They are set to begin their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schedule on Thursday against Saginaw Valley State at 7:30 PM on December 5th. Following this match-up, they will face Wayne State in Detroit on Saturday afternoon, December 7th.
