The Grand Valley State University Lakers are preparing for the Calvin Winter Invitational at Calvin University. The event is scheduled from Thursday, December 5 to Saturday, December 7, with competitions starting at 10 a.m. daily. Diving events will commence on Friday, December 6.

The GVSU women's swim and dive team holds the top rank in NCAA Division II and has achieved a record of 5-1-1. They will compete against teams from the University of Findlay, Grove City, Indiana Wesleyan, and Northern Michigan.

Meanwhile, the men's team remains within the top five of NCAA Division II rankings despite a recent loss to the Oakland Grizzlies that adjusted their record to 4-0-2. They will face the same competitors as their female counterparts.

"After taking a couple weeks off from competing, the adjustments have been coming together nicely," said Head Coach Boyce. "Our morning practices this week have been solid as we focus on preparing for the 3-day invite. We're working on our speed, form, and sharpening our mentality, trying to set some school records at this midseason meet."

The invitational will be held at Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Events begin each day at 10 a.m., with live updates available through social media channels @gvsuswimdive on Instagram and @gvsuswim on Twitter.
