Grand Valley State University's men's wrestling team participated in the Cleveland State Open on Saturday. The Lakers were among three non-Division I schools competing in the event.

Bradley Mayse, competing in the 174-pound category, and Caden Jacobs, in the 149-pound category, both recorded two wins and two losses. In the 165-pound division, Maddox Simcoe and Nate Mansor each finished with one win and two losses. Brayden Bobo (184), Michael Merritt (157), and Cayden Strong (157) also concluded their matches with a 1-2 record.

Mayse began his day with a loss to Martin Larkin from Michigan State but rebounded with a 12-5 victory over Charles Stein and a pin against Gabriel Thomasson. His run ended when he was pinned by Ronald Dimmerling of Cleveland State.

Jacobs faced an initial defeat at the hands of Logan Cravatas from Ohio but followed up with a technical fall victory over David Clemons and a 7-4 win against Bryce Shelton from Air Force. His tournament concluded after a 10-3 loss to Matt Hart from Indiana.
