Three Lakers earn United Soccer Coaches All-American honors

United Soccer Coaches announced the NCAA Division II women's soccer All-American teams, recognizing three players from the Lakers. Senior Ryann Fetty was awarded first team honors, junior Kacy Lauer received second team recognition, and senior Daan Louwerse was named to the third team.

Ryann Fetty concluded the 2024 season with notable achievements, including first team All-Region and All-GLIAC honors. She led Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in scoring with 12 points, consisting of four goals and four assists, including a game-winning goal against Cedarville. Fetty participated in all 24 games this season, amassing over 1800 minutes on the field. Her performance included a crucial goal in the Midwest Regional championship game against Drury, contributing to GVSU's 17th regional title.

Kacy Lauer played a significant role in GVSU's defense, which maintained top national rankings throughout the season. She earned first team All-Region and All-GLIAC honors while playing every minute of all 24 games. Lauer scored two game-winning goals during the season against Parkside and Roosevelt.

Daan Louwerse also received first team All-Region honors and second team All-GLIAC recognition. Appearing in 23 games, she was instrumental in GVSU's defensive efforts that resulted in 15 shutouts. Louwerse ranked second on the team for minutes played with over 2000 logged during the season.
