Steve Burciaga has been recognized as Diving Coach of the Month by the Professional Diving Coaches Association (PDCA). Burciaga, in his 12th year as Head Coach for both men's and women's diving teams, has led his athletes to notable achievements this season.
His guidance resulted in multiple first-place finishes across six competitive meets. At the Calvin/SVSU/GVSU Tri-Meet, his team secured the top five positions in the women's 1-meter dive and placed in the top two spots in the 3-meter dive. In addition, athletes under his leadership achieved top-two finishes in the men's 1-meter dive.
At another competition, the UINDY meet, Burciaga's athletes finished among the top five across all diving platforms for both men’s and women’s events. Throughout later competitions such as Northern Michigan Meet, Oakland Meet, SVSU Meet, and Calvin Winter Invite, his team consistently achieved top-three finishes.
The Lakers are set to compete against Indian River College and Tampa on Friday, December 20th at 1 p.m.
