Grand Valley State University's senior offensive lineman, Gabe Brown, has been recognized as an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) First-team All-American. This announcement was made on Wednesday, December 18.

Brown's performance this season earned him several accolades. He was a D2CCA First-Team Super Region 3 honoree and named the 2024 GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year. Additionally, he has been a two-time First-Team All-GLIAC performer. His versatility on the offensive line played a significant role in GVSU's successful rushing game, which led the GLIAC and ranked seventh nationally with an average of 247.2 yards per game. The team managed to rush for over 235 yards in eight games during the season. Brown demonstrated proficiency in both run and pass blocking, achieving a 96.3 efficiency rating for the regular season.

Grand Valley State University concluded their 2024 campaign with an impressive 11-2 record and secured a spot in the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.
