The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's basketball team is set to play its final game of 2024 against Northwood in Midland. The match is scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 PM, marking the end of the season before the holiday break.

The Lakers currently hold an impressive record of 11-1 this season. They faced their first defeat recently against Ohio State, concluding a three-game road trip with a loss of 82-57. Prior to that, they secured victories over Quincy and Drury with scores of 73-58 and 104-63 respectively. This marks the fourth consecutive season that GVSU has begun with an outstanding record of at least 11-1 or better.

GVSU's performance includes having the nation's eighth-best scoring defense, allowing only 51.7 points per game, alongside being ranked ninth in offense by scoring an average of 80.9 points per contest.

Reflecting on last season's encounter at Northwood, GVSU managed a narrow win with a scoreline of 75-71. The Lakers had led by nine points in the fourth quarter before Northwood took a brief lead. However, GVSU responded with a decisive run to secure victory.

Northwood enters Sunday's game with a season start record of 3-7 but has shown strong performances against top-ranked teams on their home ground in Midland. They have defeated number ten Ashland and number twenty-two Northern Michigan earlier this season.

Sunday’s game will be accessible via live stats and live streaming options. Radio coverage will be available on The Ticket (106.1 FM/1340 AM) and Thunder Country (107.3 FM). Updates can also be followed on social media through @gvsuwbb or online at GVSUlakers.com.
