Allendale, Mich. – This Saturday's basketball doubleheader featuring Grand Valley State University (GVSU) against Northern Michigan will be highlighted by a special Kid's Day event. Children aged 3 to 17 will be granted free admission to the games.
The day's events will commence with the women's game at 1:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 3:00 p.m. Currently, both GVSU and Northern Michigan hold a tie at the top of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) standings for women’s basketball, each boasting a record of 3-0. On the men’s side, Northern Michigan leads with a record of 3-0 while GVSU trails slightly with a record of 2-1.
The Laker women enter Saturday's game as the nation's top-ranked team, holding an overall record of 13-1. They feature strong performances on both ends of the court, with their defense ranked seventh and offense ranked eighth nationally in scoring. Meanwhile, the Laker men have begun their season with a record of 6-5 and are noted for having four players averaging double figures in points per game, collectively scoring over 78 points per contest.
