Grand Valley falls short against Lake Superior in road game

The Grand Valley State men's basketball team was defeated by Lake Superior State with a score of 87-78 in an away game on Saturday night. This result places the Lakers at a 6-8 overall record and 2-4 in the GLIAC this season.

Grand Valley State achieved a shooting percentage of 40% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc. The team also made 13 out of 16 free throws. In contrast, Lake Superior State had a higher shooting percentage, hitting 55% from the field and 48% from three-point range. Lake Superior State outrebounded Grand Valley State with a total of 39 to their opponent's 33 rebounds, although Grand Valley managed to secure more offensive rebounds with a count of 13 compared to Lake Superior's 11.

Mason Docks led Grand Valley with a contribution of 15 points, shooting efficiently at 6-11 from the field and making one out of two three-pointers. William Dunn achieved a double-double by scoring 12 points and collecting ten rebounds while shooting five for seven from the field and two for four from beyond the arc. Jalen Charity added another 13 points, converting four out of eight shots with two successful three-pointers. Kaden Brown contributed twelve points and topped his team with three assists.

For Lake Superior State, Tyson Edmondson was prominent, scoring nineteen points on seven for thirteen shooting including four successful attempts from beyond the arc. Kingsley Perkins added eighteen points on eight for ten shooting along with seven rebounds and four assists. Devin Womack scored sixteen points on five for ten shooting while leading all players with six assists and grabbing five rebounds.

Looking ahead, Grand Valley State is set to face Davenport next week in an away game scheduled for Thursday, January 16th at Caledonia, Michigan. The game will begin at 7:30 PM and will be available for live streaming on FloSports as well as live radio coverage on Thunder Country 107.3.
