The GVSU women's basketball team returned to their home court after a three-week absence, facing Parkside during 616 Night. In a game marked by strong defensive plays, the Lakers secured a victory with a score of 72-43. This win improved GVSU's record to 19-1 overall and maintained their unbeaten streak in GLIAC play at 9-0.

The game began with an early basket from Parkside, but Molly Anderson quickly responded with a three-pointer, giving GVSU the lead. The teams were tied at six before the Lakers embarked on a 6-0 run, ending the first quarter with a lead of 15-8.

In the second quarter, Ellie Droste extended the Lakers' lead to ten points through successful free throws. After some back-and-forth scoring between both teams, Anderson scored another three-pointer, putting GVSU ahead by eleven points. MacKenzie Bisballe contributed with a late layup that gave the Lakers a halftime advantage of 33-20.

Anderson continued her strong performance in the second half by scoring her third three-pointer of the night, increasing GVSU's lead to sixteen points. The gap widened to twenty following Nicole Kamin's steal and layup. Despite efforts from Parkside to reduce their deficit slightly by the end of the third quarter, they still trailed at 48-31.

In the fourth quarter, GVSU's offense hit its stride by scoring twenty-four points in ten minutes. Contributions from both Bisballe sisters and Sydney Cherney helped secure this offensive surge as they shot an impressive seventy-seven percent in this period. The victory marked GVSU's eighth consecutive win.

Molly Anderson led her team with thirteen points on five-for-seven shooting and three successful triples—a career-high for her. MacKenzie Bisballe added nine points alongside seven rebounds while Paige Vanstee also scored nine points and collected five rebounds; Rylie Bisballe and Nicole Kamin each tallied eight points.

Despite being known as one of league’s top rebounding teams prior to this match-up against GVSU—the Rangers managed only thirty boards—thirteen fewer than their opponents who dominated them under basket throughout entire contest.
