For the first time in her career, freshman MacKenzie Bisballe has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. Bisballe, a player for Grand Valley State University (GVSU), delivered notable performances across three games.
In these matches, Bisballe scored a total of 36 points and secured 14 rebounds. Her defensive contributions included nine blocked shots and three steals. She also provided six assists. Her shooting accuracy was evident as she made 14 out of 19 field goal attempts and was flawless from the free throw line with six successful shots.
During a game against Roosevelt on Monday, Bisballe achieved a career-high with five blocked shots. She also contributed nine points, three rebounds, and three assists to secure a victory for GVSU. In the following game against Parkside, she added another nine points to her tally along with seven rebounds, two steals, and one block. The week concluded with an impressive performance against Purdue Northwest where she scored 18 points, grabbed four rebounds, made three blocks, and recorded one steal in their significant win.
This season, Bisballe is leading the GLIAC with 28 blocks at an average of 1.3 per game.
GVSU will continue its season this weekend with games scheduled in Michigan's Upper Peninsula against Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech.
