Grand Valley State wrestling team hosts Davenport amid strong season

The Grand Valley State men's wrestling team, ranked sixth nationally, is set to face Davenport on Thursday at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The event will begin at 7 p.m., and the team will honor its senior member, Nate Mansor, before the match.

Grand Valley State has demonstrated strong performances this season, achieving an eighth-place finish at the Midwest Classic and securing sixth place at the 2025 NWCA National Dual Championships. Notably, they were the only unseeded team to reach the podium at this event.

The lineup for Grand Valley State includes several notable wrestlers: Orion Wilson in the 125-pound category with a record of 10-12; Jak Keller, ranked tenth in his weight class, competing in the 133-pound category with a record of 17-10; and Chris Donathan, who holds a number one ranking in his class and remains undefeated with a record of 6-0 in the 149-pound category.

Other competitors include CJ Poole or Eran Marx at 141 pounds; Maddox Simcoe at 157 pounds; Bradley Mayse or Nate Mansor at 165 pounds; Josh Kenny, ranked fifth in his class, at 174 pounds; Brayden Bobo or Miles Curtis at 184 pounds; Wyatt Miller, ranked fourteenth in his class, at 197 pounds; and Carter Blough, ranked third in his class with a record of 19-3 in the heavyweight category.

This matchup promises to be an exciting event for wrestling fans as Grand Valley State aims to continue their successful season.
