Grand Valley State University's wrestling team participated in the Indianapolis Duals on Saturday, securing two wins and one loss. The Lakers defeated McKendree with a score of 26-21 and Quincy by 27-20 but fell to Maryville, losing 32-14. Their next match will be against Findlay on February 15.

Orion Wilson excelled at the event, winning all three of his matches at 125 pounds with bonus points. Jak Keller, ranked #10 at 133 pounds, also went undefeated, securing victories with bonus points. Carter Blough, ranked #3 at heavyweight (285), contributed significantly by clinching crucial dual wins despite one loss during the day. Bradley Mayse performed well at 165 pounds with two wins in bonus-point fashion.

The Lakers began their competition against McKendree strongly, taking the first three matches with bonus points. Orion Wilson pinned Jason Strope quickly, while Jak Keller won by major decision over Anthony Bernardo. C.J. Poole added another fall victory for GVSU against Gunnar LeGrand. Miles Curtis secured a win by pinning Lucas Wendling, and Carter Blough sealed the overall victory with a major decision over Tyler Haynes.

In their matchup against Maryville, Orion Wilson and Jak Keller gave GVSU an early lead with a technical fall and major decision respectively. However, missing four ranked starters affected GVSU's performance as Maryville won seven of the last eight matches to claim victory.

Against Quincy, Orion Wilson started strong again with a technical fall win over Brian Farley. Jak Keller continued his success by pinning Damien Flores. Michael Merritt and Bradley Mayse extended GVSU's lead before Carter Blough concluded the dual meet with a win over Caleb Groff.
