Grand Valley State men's tennis team secures sweeping victory over Grace College

The Grand Valley State men's tennis team secured a decisive victory against Grace College, improving their season record to 4-0. The match took place on Friday at the Premier Athletic and Tennis Club, where GVSU claimed a 7-0 win.

In doubles play, the Lakers dominated to earn the doubles point. Lucas Gonzalez and Victor Lopes achieved a 6-2 victory in the top doubles position. Meanwhile, Stephen Claassen and Patricio Sepulveda also recorded a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Chimo Minguez and Sebastian O'Byrne completed the sweep with another 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

The singles matches followed suit, with GVSU not losing a set. Denys Zamaraiev maintained his perfect record from the top singles spot with a straight-set victory of 7-6, 6-2. Lucas Gonzalez delivered a strong performance with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Ignasi Garros secured his match at No. 3 singles with scores of 7-5, 6-2. Stephen Claassen added to the tally with a straightforward win of 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Lawrence Ivanov triumphed at No.5 singles with scores of 6-2, 6-3 while Chimo Minguez wrapped up the day with a solid showing of 6-1, 6-3 at No. six singles.

Looking ahead, the Lakers are set to continue their homestand on Saturday as they host Walsh at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club.
