The Grand Valley State women's tennis team secured a 6-1 victory against Walsh on Saturday at the Premier Athletic and Tennis Club. This win brings the Lakers' season record to 3-1.

In doubles matches, GVSU won two out of three. Neus Ramos and Vale Mozas achieved a 7-5 win in the top doubles position, while Ipek Sakiroglu and Kalomoira Ralli recorded a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles. However, Rachel Sam and Estefania Hernandez were narrowly defeated with a score of 4-6 at No. 2 doubles.

During singles play, Neus Ramos triumphed with a straight set win of 7-6, 6-1 in the top singles match. Anna Soteras followed suit with another straight set victory of 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Ipek Sakiroglu fought through three sets to claim a win of 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 at No. 4 singles, while Kalomoira Ralli also won her three-set match with scores of 6-4, 4-6, and 6-2 at No.5 singles. Nadia Rodewald added to the team's success with a straightforward win of 6-2, 6-3 at No. six singles. Despite her efforts, Vale Mozas faced defeat in a close three-set match ending with scores of  4–⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠–​​-​⁠​​–​–​–​⁠​​​-​​​​​​‑​‑​​‑​​​​—​​​––­—— – —— – — — ——   ­ ​​​​— — — ​ —   ‍  ​​   − − − ​​− ​​− − ​​⁄ ⁠/ ⁠⁄ / // ⁠// ,,,,, .,,.. ......

The Lakers are scheduled to play again against Northwood next Friday (Feb.21) in Midland, Michigan.
