The Grand Valley State softball team is set to participate in the Lewis Dome Tournament in Rosemont, Illinois. The Lakers will play six games starting on February 20 against Minnesota State Moorhead at 2:30 PM EST.
Their schedule includes:
- Thursday, Feb. 20 vs Minnesota State Moorhead – 2:30 PM
- Thursday, Feb. 20 vs Minnesota Duluth – 4:30 PM
- Friday, Feb. 21 vs Truman State – 4:30 PM
- Friday, Feb. 21 vs St. Cloud State – 7:00 PM
- Saturday, Feb. 22 vs Winona State – 10:00 AM
- Saturday, Feb. 22 vs Lewis – 12:00 PM
Last week, the Lakers opened their season with a doubleheader against Findlay in Brighton, Michigan. They lost both games with scores of 6-1 and 8-2 respectively. Kylie Sinal had a strong performance going two for four with a double and two walks over the two games. Morgan Spicer contributed with a double in game one and a triple in game two.
Christine Duch led the pitching efforts for GVSU with four strikeouts over three innings pitched. Karli Dorr made her collegiate debut by pitching four innings without allowing any earned runs while striking out two and issuing no walks.
