The Grand Valley State University swim and dive team is preparing for the upcoming GLIAC Conference Swim and Dive Meet, which will take place from February 19th to 22nd. The event will feature preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. each day, with finals scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The men's team, ranked No. 5, aims to secure their 11th consecutive GLIAC title. Meanwhile, the women's team seeks to win their seventh championship in the 2025 season.

"The GLIAC Championships are right around the corner and we couldn't be more excited," said Head Coach Andy Boyce. "The team is really coming together at the right time and we look forward to seeing lots of records fall next week."

Following a successful meet against the University of Findlay, where both men’s and women’s teams emerged victorious, the Lakers have had several weeks to prepare for this competition.

In diving events, GVSU recently hosted Albion, Calvin, and Saginaw Valley for an invitational meet two weeks ago, securing five first-place finishes. The dive team hopes to maintain their momentum into the GLIAC competition.

"We are looking forward to the conference meet. This is the one meet we have been focusing on over the last six weeks," said Head Diving Coach Steve Burciaga. "Besides working on our dive list for the conference meet, each diver is focusing on their dives that need more attention to being more consistent in scoring higher points."

The GLIAC boasts a strong lineup of national qualifiers with 10 out of 17 women divers and 12 out of 19 men divers achieving qualifying scores.

"I believe this is the most talented diving Conference in the DII Nation, and competing in this meet is great for our confidence going into our national qualifying meet in March," added Head Coach Burciaga.

Teams participating in this year's GLIAC Championship include Augustana, Davenport, Grand Valley State, Lake Superior State, Northern Michigan, Saginaw Valley, St. Cloud State, and Wayne State.
