The second quarter began with Rothe and Bancroft scoring again, extending the lead to 6-2. After a goal from Quincy, Grace Maddox and Bancroft added to the Lakers' tally, both assisted by Bingman. At halftime, Quincy trailed 8-4.
Kendra Swope scored her first collegiate goal at the start of the second half and quickly followed it up with another goal assisted by Kayleigh Sandell. Emerson Holthouser also recorded her first goal as a Laker in this period. Despite Quincy's efforts, they entered the fourth quarter down 11-7.
GVSU dominated early in the fourth period with four consecutive goals from Leah Leonard, Rothe, Boose, and Ainsley Shilling. Quincy managed to score again before Boose sealed an eight-goal lead for GVSU. Although Quincy scored once more before the final whistle, it was not enough to close the gap.

The Lakers excelled in draw control battles winning 18 out of 28 encounters. Ella Boose collected eight draws herself while Shilling contributed four and Isabella De La Cerda three. Defensively, Kaylyn Cater earned a win in goal alongside Sarah Krause's combined effort totaling 11 saves.
Looking ahead, GVSU continues their Spring Break journey by heading west to face Colorado Mesa on Thursday followed by Regis on Sunday afternoon.
