Grand Valley State women’s tennis secures victory against #22 Tampa

The Grand Valley State women's tennis team concluded their Florida trip with a 5-2 victory over #22 Tampa. This win brings the Lakers' season record to 6-2.

The Lakers secured the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions. Neus Ramos and Vale Mozas achieved a 6-3 victory at the top doubles spot, while Estefania Hernandez and Rachel Sam won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. Anna Soteras and Kalomoira Ralli faced a narrow defeat with a score of 4-6 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Anna Soteras secured a straight-set win of 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3 singles. Estefania Hernandez dominated her match with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Ipek Sakiroglu claimed victory with scores of 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, and Kalomoira Ralli won her match with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6 singles. Neus Ramos lost her match in a close contest with scores of 3-6, 4-6 at the top singles position, while Vale Mozas was defeated in another tight match with scores of 5-7, 4-6 at No. 2 singles.

The Lakers are set to return to action on Saturday, March 15 when they host Illinois-Chicago. The match is scheduled for a first serve at 5:00 PM at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club in Grandville, Michigan.
