GVSU Swim & Dive Team heads to DII Nationals in Indianapolis

The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Swim & Dive Team is set to compete in the Division II Nationals from March 11 to 15, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event will commence with an opening ceremony at the Children's Museum on March 11 at 6:30 p.m.

The competition begins with two diving sessions and the 800 freestyle relay on Tuesday, March 11, starting at 10 a.m. GVSU will have a team of 30 athletes participating over five days. These athletes earned their spots by achieving qualifying times during previous meets.

In women's diving, Maddie Kooistra returns as the reigning champion in the women's one-meter dive. She will be joined by Macy Polask, Olivia Kutsche, and Emi Goto. On the men's side, divers Matthew Blommel, Cory Shade, and Carter Wood will represent GVSU.

Eight male swimmers are set to compete in individual events. The NCAA selects the top competitors for each event based on rankings or invitations. The athletes include Matt Bosch, Raul Briceno, Aaron Dies, Andrew Goh, Jon Kantzenbach, Esteban Nunez Del Prado, Evan Scotto DiVetta, and Thomas Zoldowski.

Additionally, Carsyn Christoffel, Austin Millard, Anton Rauch, and Brennan Neitzel will participate in relay events. The NCAA invites teams with top regular-season times for these events.

On the women's side of individual competitions are Sara Alvarez, Vittoria Proietti, Katie O'Connell, Lucy Hedley, Alysa Wager Kelly Shortall Alice Persson Several women will also take part in multiple events Meanwhile Angelica Angilletta Kiersten Harmon Linda Frick Annabelle Nixon will join relay events
