GVSU men's relay wins national championship title

The Grand Valley State University's men's 200 freestyle relay team secured a National Champion title and set a school record at the competition in Indianapolis. This victory marks the first time a relay team from GVSU Lakers has won the National Championship Trophy.

In the overall standings, the women's team is currently seventh with 158 points, trailing Tampa by seven points. The men's team is fifth with 186 points, closely following Indy.

On day four of the competition, Lucy Hedley achieved second place in the women's 500 free event with a time of 4:47.57, earning All-American status. Kelly Shortall finished 16th in her event with a time of 2:04.89 and was also named an All-American.

The women's 200 free relay team—comprising Kiersten Harmon, Annabelle Nixon, Linda Frick, and Alysa Wager—finished 20th with a time of 1:34.27. Each member received All-American honors.

Maddie Kooistra advanced to the finals in the three-meter dive after placing in the top eight during qualifiers. She finished third in the finals with a score of 506.55 and was recognized as an All-American. This event marked her final Nationals appearance as a collegiate athlete.

Olivia Kutsche took 12th place in the three-meter dive with a score of 432.90 and earned All-American recognition.

For the men's events, Jon Kantzenbach placed 15th in his category with a time of 1:47.10 and was awarded All-American status.

The victorious men's relay team included Evan Scotto DiVetta, Esteban Nunez Del Prado, Aaron Dies, and Matt Bosch who completed their race in 1:18.10 to secure their national title—all members were named All-Americans.
