For the first time in her career, Elora Ferrie, a senior defender for Grand Valley State University's women's lacrosse team, has been recognized as the GLIAC Defender of the Week. Ferrie's performance was instrumental in securing two victories over the weekend.
In a match against Walsh, which ended with a 9-5 victory for GVSU, Ferrie contributed by picking up two groundballs and causing one turnover. This defensive effort helped hold Walsh to four goals below their season average. In another game against Ashland on Saturday, which GVSU won 13-11, Ferrie added three more groundballs to her tally.
The Lakers are set to play at home for the first time this season. They will face Maryville on Friday and UIndy on Sunday.
