The GVSU men's golf team concluded their second spring tournament, securing a second-place finish at the Ralph Hargett Memorial. Manuel Cue Vargas achieved an individual victory, marking his second win of the year.
Wingate emerged victorious in their event, shooting nine under par on the final day to secure first place with a total score of 18 under par. USC Beaufort followed in second place at 15 under par, while the Lakers secured third with a score of 12 under par. Lenoir-Rhyne and Anderson finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Cue recorded a final round score of 68, four under par, to ascend two positions and claim victory with an overall score of nine under par. His performance included five birdies and an eagle. Drew Coble tied for 13th place at two under par, ending with a final round of 75 and three birdies. Charlie Cooley tied for 26th place after making four birdies and an eagle during his round of 73, finishing two over par. Bryce Wheeler tied for 31st place at three over par with a round of 74 that included three birdies. Ryan Gallagher completed his round with a score of 76 to finish in 38th place at four over par, having made one birdie and an eagle.
The Lakers are scheduled to compete next week in the Tennessee River Rumble in Lenoir City.
