The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's basketball team is preparing for their upcoming game in the Elite Eight, set to take place in Pittsburgh. The Lakers will face Gannon on Monday night at 6:00 PM.

The Lakers, who hold the top seed, secured their spot by winning the Midwest Regional title with a 62-50 victory over Ashland. Paige Vanstee was recognized as the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, while Rylie Bisballe earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Gannon advanced to the Elite Eight after winning the Atlantic Regional with a 72-59 win against IUP. This marks their second consecutive appearance in the Elite Eight; last year, they entered as the top seed but were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Kate Ratliff was named Regional Most Outstanding Player, and Bri Claxton joined her on the All-Tournament team.
