The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's golf team secured a second-place finish at the Lynn Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida. Olivia Stoll and Rachael Krieger were among the top competitors for the Lakers, achieving top-five finishes.
Lynn University emerged as the team champion, ending the tournament two under par after a strong final round. GVSU finished eight over par, recording their best round of the event with a score of 290 (+2). Dallas Baptist secured third place at ten over par, followed by Lee University and Flagler College, placed fourth and fifth respectively.
The standout performer for GVSU was Olivia Stoll, who finished third individually. Stoll completed her final round with a two-over 74, closing the tournament three under par. Rachael Krieger followed closely, tying for fourth place at two under par after a final round score of 69 (-3), thanks to four birdies. Lea Stotz shared the 13th position at four over, achieving six birdies in her final round of 71 (-1).
Paula Badino ended 47th overall with a score of 13 over par after a round of 76 (+4). Megan Miron and Charlotte Goersch both tied for 57th, finishing 17 over par overall. Goersch and Miron each completed the tournament with two birdies in their final rounds, scoring 75 (+3) and 76 (+4) respectively.
The GVSU women's golf team will continue their season at the NC4K Classic in Grove City, Ohio, starting on Monday.
