Lakers team competes in Ken Partridge Invitational with Cue Vargas and Coble in the lead

The Lakers participated in the opening round of the Ken Partridge Invitational in Noblesville, Indiana, marking their final tournament of the regular golf season. At the conclusion of the first round, the Lakers held fourth place, with players Manuel Cue Vargas and Drew Coble leading the leaderboard.

The opening round saw Wayne State in the lead with a five-under score of 283. Drury and Missouri S&T tied for second place at three under, while the Lakers were one stroke behind these teams, finishing day one at two under. Quincy was in fifth, having shot one under as a team.

Manuel Cue Vargas topped the field with a five-under 67, achieving six birdies. Drew Coble was in a tie for second place, posting a four-under 68 with five birdies. Murphy Kehoe tied for 35th with a score of 73 (+1) and carded five birdies. Ryan Gallagher ended the day at three over with a score of 75 (+3) and made three birdies, tying for 60th. Bryce Wheeler was one shot further back with a 76 (+4) with one birdie, tying for 70th. Charlie Cooley finished with a score of 77 (+5) and one birdie, tying for 83rd.

The Lakers are set to play the second round on Monday, with the championship concluding on Tuesday.
