Lakers maintain second place after day one at the NC4K Classic

The Grand Valley State women's golf team is participating in the NC4K Classic in Grove City, Ohio. After completing one full round and almost half of another, the Lakers are holding second place, trailing the leader by three strokes.

Ferris State is leading the tournament with a score of +21 after the first day of play. The Lakers are close behind with a score of +24. Ashland stands in third place with a score of +36. Gannon is positioned fourth at +40, and SVSU trails at +44.

Charlotte Goersch is the leading player for the Lakers, tying for third place with a score of five over par after making three birdies. Lea Stotz and Olivia Stoll share the sixth place, each scoring seven over par; Stoll had four birdies and Stotz had two. Evelyn Park holds an eighth-place tie, ending her round at eight over par with one birdie. Julia Sachez is tied for 13th with a score of nine over, achieving three birdies. Rachael Krieger rounds out the team with a score of +10, tying for 19th place, and she also made one birdie.

The Lakers are set to finish their second round followed by the final round tomorrow, concluding their participation in the event.
