The GVSU men's golf team wrapped up its regular season by securing a fourth-place finish at the Ken Partridge Invitational in Noblesville, Indiana. Two team members, Drew Coble and Manuel Cue Vargas, achieved top-five placements.
Missouri S&T claimed victory in the team competition, posting a final round score of five under par to finish the tournament at five under. Wayne State finished in second place at two over. Ferris State secured the third spot with a score of five over. The Lakers submitted a final round score of 284, four under par, concluding their run at six over in fourth place. Host Indianapolis completed the top five at eight over.
Drew Coble finished as the individual runner-up with a score of six under par, concluding with a final round of 70, marking three birdies in his scorecard. Manuel Cue Vargas ended in a tie for fifth, also concluding with a 70 and three birdies, finishing at four under. Murphy Kehoe, competing as an individual, tied for 11th with a final round score of 70 and three birdies, closing at even par. Bryce Wheeler tied for 26th, completing the tournament with a round of 72, registering three birdies to end at four over. Ryan Gallagher ended in a tie for 76th, completing his round with a 72 and four birdies, concluding at 12 over. Completing the Lakers' lineup, Charlie Cooley tied for 94th, with a round of 74, securing three birdies to finalize at 16 over.
This tournament marked the end of the regular season for the Lakers, who now focus on the GLIAC Championships beginning on April 18th.
