The Grand Valley State University women's lacrosse team is set to host Northern Michigan University this Friday and Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday. These games mark the continuation of their homestand, with Sunday designated as Senior Day to honor five seniors: Sema Hasanof, Kaylyn Cater, Zoe Ziegler, Karleigh Rothe, and Ashleigh Rothe. These players have had an impressive run, with 61 game wins and a record in GLIAC championships and NCAA Tournaments.

The Lakers are on a strong run, having secured a 12-3 victory against Davenport and a 25-3 win over SVSU last week. The team's defense has been effective, limiting their opponents' shots and causing turnovers. Zoe Ziegler and Ashleigh Rothe were standout performers, each contributing significantly to the wins. The team’s current record stands at 9-3 with a perfect 4-0 in conference play.

GVSU's earlier game with Northern Michigan saw them recover from an initial setback to win in overtime, with Karleigh Rothe scoring the decisive goal. Northern Michigan, with an overall record of 8-5, has a potent offense led by Josie Lakosky. They are yet to secure a win against GVSU in their history.

The upcoming match against Concordia-St. Paul will be their second this season, after the Lakers defeated them 17-10 in their previous encounter. Concordia-St. Paul sits in second place in the league and has offensive strength with players like Susie Monson and Anna Fisher. However, they have yet to secure a victory against GVSU.
