The Grand Valley State women's tennis team finished their weekend with a comprehensive victory, defeating Michigan Tech 7-0 on Saturday afternoon. This result improves the Lakers' season record to 12-4, with a 6-1 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The team excelled in doubles matches, securing the doubles point with three wins. Neus Ramos and Vale Mozas achieved a 6-4 victory at the top doubles position, while Rachel Sam and Estefania Hernandez also won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Ipek Sakiroglu and Kalomoira Ralli earned a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles, completing the sweep.
In the singles matches, Neus Ramos emerged victorious with a 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 1 position. At No. 2 singles, Vale Mozas recorded a 6-2, 7-5 win. Anna Soteras was dominant at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Estefania Hernandez won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Ipek Sakiroglu triumphed 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. At No. 6 singles, Kalomoira Ralli won in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.
The Lakers will conclude their regular season on the road, visiting Davenport for a crosstown showdown on Friday, April 18. The match is scheduled for an 11:00 AM start.
