Grand Valley State extends win streak to seven with sweep over Michigan Tech

The Grand Valley State men's tennis team defeated Michigan Tech on Saturday afternoon, winning 7-0, and extending their current winning streak to seven matches. This victory brings their record for the season to 13-2 and 6-0 in the GLIAC. The team also ends their regular season without a single home loss, achieving an 8-0 record.

The doubles teams secured their point with wins from the No. 2 and No. 3 pairs. Stephen Claassen and Lawrence Ivanov achieved a 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles. Meanwhile, Denys Zamaraiev and Chimo Minguez secured a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

In the singles matches, Denys Zamaraiev won 6-1, 7-5 at the top position. Victor Lopes followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. Jorge Ruiz triumphed with a 6-1, 6-2 result at No. 3 singles, while Patricio Sepulveda also won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Ignasi Garros tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles. Chimo Minguez dominated with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.

The team will complete their regular season on the road against Davenport on Friday, April 18th, with the match set to begin at 11:00 AM.
