Junior Elizabeth Wesoloski has been honored as the GLIAC Softball Player of the Week, marking her first recognition of the season. Demonstrating impressive performance, Wesoloski achieved a .500 batting average, going 6-for-12 with three home runs and seven RBIs. She contributed significantly to GVSU's 3-1 record in GLIAC play over the weekend.
In the doubleheader against Ferris State, Wesoloski batted perfectly, going 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Her performance continued with two home runs and four RBIs during the 12-4 victory in the first game against Davenport. Wesoloski also added a hit and two runs to assist the Lakers in completing the doubleheader sweep against Davenport.
The GVSU Lakers are currently ranked second in the GLIAC standings with a 10-8 conference record. The team is set to play against Purdue Northwest in a doubleheader on April 15th, with the first game starting at 1:00 PM ET in Hammond, Indiana.
