The Grand Valley State women's tennis team concluded their regular season with a 5-2 victory against Davenport in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Friday, April 18. This final match marks the end of their regular season with an overall record of 13-4 and a conference record of 7-1.
In their doubles matches, GVSU secured a sweep to earn the doubles point. Neus Ramos and Vale Mozas achieved a 6-1 win in the top doubles spot, while Rachel Sam and Estefania Hernandez also had a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles. Ipek Sakiroglu and Kalomoira Ralli completed the sweep with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
During the singles matches, Anna Soteras emerged victorious 6-2, 4-3 by retirement at No. 3 singles, and Estefania Hernandez won her match decisively with a 6-2, 6-0 result at No. 4 singles. Ipek Sakiroglu secured a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win in a three-set match at No. 5 singles. Kalomoira Ralli record a 7-5, 6-1 straight set victory at No. 6 singles. However, Neus Ramos and Vale Mozas both lost their matches in tightly contested three sets at the top and No. 2 singles, respectively.
Looking ahead, the Lakers will participate as the second seed in the GLIAC tournament quarterfinals, set to start on Friday, April 25. Their opponent for this round is yet to be decided.
