The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) softball team faced Parkside in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday. The games resulted in one loss and one win, bringing the Lakers' overall record to 23-23 and their conference record to 14-10.

The first game concluded with a 7-1 victory for Parkside. GVSU initially took the lead in the third inning when Jasmine Mauk hit a triple, followed by Faith Edwards's single. However, Parkside gained control by scoring two runs in the sixth inning and five more in the seventh, securing their win. Key performances included Karli Dorr's perfect hitting with a double and a walk, and Mauk's triple. Dorr pitched seven innings, allowing six earned runs with five strikeouts.

In the second game, GVSU managed a 2-0 win. They broke the tie in the third inning with a run after Eliana Eiland and Carsyn Segorski hit consecutive singles. Faith Edwards contributed with a critical popup that allowed Eiland to score from third. Eiland played a crucial role in the fifth inning as well, with a leadoff double, and was later driven home by an Edwards single. Eiland completed the game batting 2-3, while Edwards recorded a double and two RBIs. Nevaeh Ingram played excellently, pitching a one-hit shutout with four strikeouts, earning her the win.

The Lakers are set to play their final four regular-season games at home next weekend. They will face Saginaw Valley State on Friday, April 25th, and Wayne State on Saturday, April 26th. Both doubleheaders will be available for live streaming on FloSports.
