GVSU women’s golf team competes in NCAA championships' final round

The GVSU women's golf team concluded the second day of the NCAA Championships in Boulder City, Nevada, finishing in 11th place. They are just one stroke behind the eighth spot, which is necessary to advance to match play after the final round tomorrow.

Cal State San Marcos leads with a score of twelve under par. Dallas Baptist follows in second place at nine under, and Anderson holds third place at seven under. Flagler stands fourth at four under, while Findlay ends the day fifth at three under. The Lakers finished nine over par, trailing a three-way tie for eighth between Henderson State, Central Missouri, and Cal State East Bay by one stroke.

Julia Sanchez and Chalotte Goersch both completed rounds of even-par 72. Sanchez made four birdies and is tied for 52nd at four over par. Goersch also made four birdies, ending in a tie for 62nd at five over par. Lea Stotz entered as a substitute and shot a 73 (+1), making three birdies. Olivia Stoll and Paula Badino each shot 77 (+5). Stoll is tied for 21st at one over par with four birdies today, while Badino recorded a birdie and an eagle to finish tied for 44th at three over par.

The Lakers will compete on day three alongside Henderson State and Midwestern State, starting their round at 9:10 am Pacific Time.
