GVSU women's golf finishes ninth at NCAA National Championships

The GVSU women's golf team concluded their season at the NCAA National Championships, finishing in ninth place. The Lakers narrowly missed qualifying for match play, ending five strokes behind Wingate.

In the final round, GVSU delivered their best performance of the tournament by shooting four under par, which allowed them to move up from 11th to ninth place. Despite this effort, they were unable to bridge the gap to reach the top eight.

Olivia Stoll made a significant impact by finishing in ninth place individually. She shot a final round of 66 (-6), climbing 12 spots with seven birdies and ending at five under par. Lea Stotz also performed well, shooting 70 (-2) with four birdies and completing the tournament at one under par.

Julia Sanchez tied for 55th place after carding a final round of 74 (+2) with three birdies, finishing six over par. Charlotte Goersch and Paula Badino both ended tied for 66th place at seven over par. Goersch's final round included two birdies with a score of 74, while Badino finished with a score of 76 (+4), also sinking two birdies.
