The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its postseason awards, with the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's golf team securing all three major accolades and six players earning All-GLIAC honors.
Rebecca Mailloux, head coach of the GVSU women's golf team, has been named GLIAC Coach of the Year for the tenth time. Under her leadership, the Lakers achieved five victories, including wins at both the GLIAC Championship and the East Regional title. The team also secured four additional top-three finishes. Mailloux coached six golfers to All-GLIAC awards, with Olivia Stoll receiving Golfer of the Year and Charlotte Goersch being named Freshman of the Year. The Lakers are currently ranked ninth nationally and are competing in their eighth consecutive National Championships under Mailloux's guidance.
Senior Olivia Stoll from Grand Valley State was selected as the GLIAC Women's Golfer of the Year for a third consecutive season. Stoll is noted as being only one of eight Lakers to have earned this award, contributing to GVSU's total of 15 such honors. She emerged as the GLIAC individual medalist, won at the SMSU Spring Invite, and placed in the top three on four occasions alongside three more top-ten finishes. With 17 rounds scored at par or better and achieving a low round score of 68 on three occasions, Stoll is ranked ninth nationally among players. She joins current assistant coach Katie Chipman as one of two Lakers to have received three or more GLIAC Golfer of the Year titles.
Charlotte Goersch from GVSU was awarded GLIAC Freshman of the Year, marking her as the twelfth golfer in program history to receive this accolade. Goersch achieved victory at Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite and secured four additional top-ten finishes, including second place at the East Regional. In her debut season with GVSU in Allendale, she completed four rounds at par or better with a low round score of 71 and is currently ranked 63rd nationally.
Other first-team honorees include Megan Miron, Paula Badino, and Rachael Krieger from GVSU. Miron achieved seven top-ten finishes with two within the top three; she recorded two rounds at par or better with a low round score of 69. Badino secured four top-ten finishes with three among them within the top five; she scored six rounds at par or better with a low round score of 70. Krieger had two rounds at par or better along with a low round score of 69; she earned one top-three finish accompanied by three more within ten.
Julia Sanchez was named to second-team All-GLIAC honors for her fifth career recognition after achieving two top-ten finishes alongside an even-par low round score of 72.
