Grand Valley State University's Olivia Stoll has qualified for the Meijer LPGA Classic, marking a significant achievement as she becomes the first player from her program to participate in the event since Gabby Shipley in 2019.
Stoll secured her place by claiming the final qualifying spot after taking second at the local qualifying round. She shot a 71 (-1), tying with another golfer for second place, and subsequently won in a playoff to earn her position. Stoll is among 144 golfers competing this weekend and is one of only three amateurs to qualify.
The Meijer LPGA Classic will commence on Thursday at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan. The tournament will be broadcast on the Golf Channel from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, with coverage switching to CBS from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday after an initial hour on the Golf Channel from 1-2 p.m. Live results will also be available.
