Grand Valley State swimmers honored on GLIAC academic teams

Earlier today, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) released the All-Academic and Academic Excellence Teams for the 2024–2025 academic year. To qualify for these teams, student-athletes must be active roster members, not be freshmen or first-year transfer students, and maintain a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 for All-Academic honors or between 3.50 and 4.0 for Academic Excellence honors.

The following are honorees from Grand Valley State University's Swim & Dive team:

For Women's All-Academic:

- Sara Alvaez, Sport Management, Junior

- Angelica Angilletta, Wildlife Biology, Junior

- Madeline Basa, Marketing, Junior

- Linda Frick, Pedagogical Content Knowledge PreK–3rd, Junior

- Lucy Hedley, Exercise Science, Junior

- Sadie Huizenga, Exercise Science, Sophomore

- Maddie Koositra, Allied Health Sciences, Senior

- Annabelle Nixon, Accounting, Junior

- Vittoria Proietti, Mechanical Engineering, Sophomore

- Alysa Wager, Applied Food & Nutrition Graduate Student

For Women's Academic Excellence:

- Kayley Gallagher in Finance and others including Olivia Geiger with an undisclosed major.

For Men's All-Academic:

Notable mentions include Nolan Anderson in Biomedical Sciences and Raul Briceno in Accounting.

For Men's Academic Excellence:

Top achievers include Austin Clise in Exercise Science and Pablo Garcia in Physics.

The GLIAC continues to recognize outstanding academic achievements alongside athletic performance within its member institutions.
