Grand Valley State athletes honored with GLIAC Commissioner's Awards

Six athletes from Grand Valley State University have been recognized with the GLIAC Commissioner's Award for their achievements in spring sports. The recipients include Drew Coble from men's golf, Olivia Stoll from women's golf, and Klaudia O'Malley, Myles Rhodes, Nathan Spitzley, and Margaret Stevenson from track and field.

Drew Coble has received the award for the second consecutive year. He concluded his career with a series of accolades including being named GLIAC Golfer of the Year twice and securing six All-GLIAC selections. His performance included winning the Doc Spragg Invitational and achieving four additional top-five finishes. Coble will graduate with a master's degree in communications.

Klaudia O'Malley earned her spot as a Spring 2025 GLIAC Commissioner's Award honoree after being named GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year. She achieved personal bests in both the 1500m and 5000m events during her season, leading to her first National Champion title in the 1500m at the NCAA Championships.

Myles Rhodes also closed out his collegiate career by receiving this honor following a successful season where he broke three program records. Rhodes was awarded GLIAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and contributed significantly to his team's performance at both conference and national levels.

Nathan Spitzley was recognized not only for his athletic prowess but also for his role as a supportive teammate. Despite suffering an injury before the NCAA Championships, he maintained a positive presence within his team throughout his career.

Margaret Stevenson excelled academically while competing successfully in shot put and discus events. Her notable achievements include finishing as National Runner-Up in women's discus at the NCAA Championships.

Olivia Stoll was selected for her first GLIAC Commissioner's Award after concluding one of her most successful seasons with multiple tournament wins and top finishes nationally. She graduated with a management degree this spring.
