Rep. Bill Huizenga, who represents Michigan’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, commented on recent developments involving the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and legislative strategy in a series of posts on social media this week.
On July 15, 2025, Huizenga referenced past decisions by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stating, "The day former @SECGov Chair Gary Gensler removed the entire PCAOB, Democrats chose partisan politics over transparent audit standards. Two days later, on July 17, 2025, he addressed procedural plans for legislative votes: "The plan has always been to have separate votes on GENIUS and CLARITY.

Bill Huizenga has represented Michigan’s 4th District in Congress since 2011 after succeeding Pete Hoekstra and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in Zeeland, Michigan in 1969 and currently residing in Holland, Huizenga graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991.
