Grand Valley State men’s golf remains fourth entering final round at Folds of Honor

The Grand Valley State men's golf team held its position in fourth place after the second day of play at the Folds of Honor Collegiate tournament in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Lakers finished their second round with a score of three over par and will enter the final round on Wednesday eight over par for the tournament.

Alabama leads the event after 36 holes at three under par. Notre Dame is in second place at even par, while Kansas sits third, one stroke ahead of Grand Valley State at seven over. California rounds out the top five with a total score of twelve over par.

Among individual performances for Grand Valley State, Manuel Cue Vargas finished round two tied for seventh place at even par after shooting a 72 (+1) that included three birdies. Charlie Cooley and Maverick Conaway are both tied for 17th at three over; Cooley shot a 70 (-1) with three birdies, while Conaway carded a 73 (+2) with two birdies. Bryce Wheeler also made three birdies during his round of 73 and is tied for 30th at five over. Ryan Gallagher ended his day tied for 36th at six over after shooting a 76 (+5), which included three birdies.

For Wednesday's final round, Grand Valley State will be grouped with California and Florida State, beginning play on hole number one at 12:45 p.m.
